Shelter

Volunteer with the PADS program to provide shelter, food and resources to homeless individuals and families.

Are you interested in serving the homeless? Consider joining a compassionate community of people through the PADS program. There are two ways to get involved: meal preparation and on-site volunteering.

The Willow Creek Care Center partners with JOURNEYS, a non-profit agency that provides both shelter and social services to the homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless in the northwest suburbs. PADS, a program of Journeys, offers a safe, warm place to sleep and meals from October 1st through April 30th through a network of faith-based emergency shelters. The Care Center opens its doors to PADS guests on Thursday evenings through Friday morning.

The PADS program relies on a team of volunteers to welcome guests, manage the intake process, serve meals, build community and monitor the site while guests are present. To get involved as an on-site volunteer, click HERETo serve with PADS as an on-site volunteer, there are two simple steps. First, complete the Care Center application and protection process, and second, attend a one-hour JOURNEYS training.
