Serve as a Family

Volunteer in the Care Center with your kids and cultivate a heart for helping others.

We are thrilled you are checking out volunteering at the Care Center! Volunteers are the heartbeat of our ministry, and the fact that you and your family are willing to give time to serve with us is awesome. Serving as a family has the potential to help grow you closer together as you bless the guests of the Care Center with your time and gifts.

What does a Family Serve look like?

There are 3 key areas where families can serve together in the Care Center.

  1. Food Pantry: Stock shelves, sort product, bag groceries, and load groceries into a guest's vehicle.
  2. Clothing Store: Sort donations, do laundry, stock clothing, and work in the store assisting guests with their purchases.
  3. Kids Zone*: Play games, make crafts, and engage with the children of our guests while their parents receive Care Center services.

Who can serve?

For safety reasons, we ask that kids ages 8 to 13 serve alongside a parent in Food or Clothing. Families with children 5 to 8 years are able to serve together in the Kids Zone*. Young adults ages 14 and up are able to serve on their own without a parent if they choose.

*Please note: anyone age 14 and older will need to be cleared through Willow's protection process before being able to serve in the Kids Zone, even for a one-time serving opportunity.

How often would we need to serve?

There are opportunities to serve every week, every other week, or once a month. We invite you to bring your family, serve, and see how your contribution of time impacts our community for good. Once you know what works best, all family members age 14 and older will need to go through Willow's protection process to be cleared for ongoing serving.
