Care Team

  • Go deeper in a guest’s story by listening and discerning next steps through services, referrals, and prayer.

Clothing

  • Back of house: Sort, wash and stage clothing for the children’s clothing store.
  • Store: Interact with guests to help them with their shopping decisions as well as check them out on the register.

Employment Services

  • Help guests find jobs through individual consultation and classes.

Food

  • Grocery Assistant: Serve in the store to help guests with their shopping experience.
  • Bagger/Runner: Bag our guest’s groceries before loading them in their car.
  • Warehouse: Help unload deliveries and stock the store.

Hospitality Team

  • Engage with guests as they wait for services by offering them hospitality, prayer, information, and a listening ear.
  • Check our guests in for services. Computer skills, smiling face, and a love for people are needed.

Kids Zone

  • Care for and play with the kids of the Care Center while their parents receive services.

Legal Aid

  • Offer one on one advice and referrals for legal issues our guests are facing. Professionals and non-professional roles are needed.

SERVING ROLES WITH VARIED HOURS:

Blanket Ministry

  • Crocheting, Knitting, and Quilting
    • Join our Care Center Blanket Ministry to create handmade blankets and hats stitched with love for our Clothing Store guests. Please email eandaas@willowcreek.org for more information.

    C.A.R.S.

    • Use your passion for fixing cars to help families of the Care Center who have vehicles that need repair. No need to be a licensed mechanic.
    • You must be 18 years old to serve in C.A.R.S.

    Computer Repair

    • Help refurbish used computers that are distributed to families of the Care Center and partner organizations in need through the Computer Connection ministry.

    Computer Lab

    • Assist guests with training and developing computer skills that can help them achieve their employment goals.

    ESL

    • Help guests learn English as a second language (ESL) in a fun, supportive environment.

    Financial Services

    • Help guests who want to learn more about their personal finances and help them develop strategies to get them out of their current crisis.

    Giving Garden

    • Help plant and maintain the Care Center garden, which produces beautiful produce for our full choice food pantry.

    Health Services

    • Provide dental and vision care for our guests in need. Professionals and non-professional roles are needed.
    • Use your nursing skills to provide complimentary blood pressure screenings for guests.
    • Work with our outside organization, Caris, to help women who are facing an unplanned pregnancy.
    • Help guests make wise food choices and teach them to cook with the food we offer in the full choice food pantry as a part of the Teaching Kitchen team.

    Home Repair

    • Perform minor home repair for qualified families of the Care Center.

    Anti-Human Trafficking

    • Learn about this important issue and join us as we partner with organizations that are on the front lines.

    Kids Hope

    • Mentor at risk kids for one hour once a week at a local elementary school.

    PADS

    • Help serve our homeless population by serving dinner, helping with laundry, or driving guests to the next location. (Thursday nights to October-April)

    Prison, Jail and Re-entry

    • Prison Visitation: Visit inmates to offer hope.
    • Letter Writing: Help us respond to thousands of letters we receive every month.

    VITA Income Tax Prep / VITA Greeter

    • Provide complimentary tax preparation services for low and moderate income families and individuals.
    • Serve as a tax preparer (free training provided) or a greeter to welcome VITA guests.

    Refugees

      • Learn about about and serve the diverse community of refugees who have been resettled in the Chicagoland area.
