Coming together to meet needs and provide hope

Community Resource Center (CRC) is a collaboration of non for profit organizations, government agencies, and faith based organizations that work together to provide resources to those in our community who are in need.

Community Resource Days each Friday

We host a Community Resource Day each Friday from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. where you can receive support or volunteer to serve others.

What to expect:

The Community Resource Day provides representatives from the agencies and organizations who are there to meet needs. New guests arrive and connect with an intake volunteer who helps connect the needs of the guest with the resources available that day. Besides agency resources, Willow Creek Church in Crystal Lake also provides a hot shower, haircuts, laundry services, clothing and a hot lunch for our guests, free of charge.

Helpful information:
  • 40+ agencies/organizations are involved in providing resources at our Resource Days.
View the updated agency list here!
  • Generally we see 60-65 guests each Friday
  • Most agency providers are geared toward McHenry County residents, but not exclusively
  • About 30% of our guests are currently experiencing homelessness, about 30% are in transitional housing and about 40% of our guests are experiencing a crisis of some kind like lack of work, overdue bills, eviction notice, mental or physical health issues.

NEW – Circles USA

We are proud to announce our partnership with Circles USA to launch a new Circles chapter right here in McHenry County.

Circles USA is a national nonprofit that has spent more than 25 years helping communities build lasting pathways out of poverty. Their proven model closes the gap between short-term crisis help and long-term economic self-sufficiency. By engaging community members as intentional allies and advocates, Circles USA fosters relationships that empower individuals and families to rise out of poverty—permanently.

As a new local chapter, Circles McHenry will bring together people from all backgrounds—community volunteers, faith leaders, service providers, and those seeking to change their circumstances—to walk alongside one another in a powerful journey of transformation. Together, we’ll work to break down the systemic barriers that keep people stuck and equip families with the support and resources needed to thrive.

This initiative is about more than charity. It’s about connection, dignity, and sustainable change—for individuals, families, and our whole community.
